Drew Wylie Ltd. has developed a great track record in supporting both commercial and not for profit businesses in the arts, cultural and creative industries, from design companies, to theatres and galleries, to creative agencies. Our services include:
Feasibility studies and options appraisals – we have produced feasibility reports and options appraisals across the sector, from heritage and parks schemes to arts venues and galleries. Our work always provides for workshops and consultation to ensure that both internal and external stakeholders are part of the process and understand and agree with conclusions and recommendations. We bring expertise on different models of governance, company structures and operating platforms, along with experience of putting new ways of working into practice.
Business plans and investment case – our business plans have provided clear and reliable plans and projections to enable clients to achieve their ambitions. We ensure that vision and aims are successfully translated into effective operational plans and realistic projections. Risks are identified along with milestones and performance indicators. Our plans have directly triggered both project and capital investment for a range of clients, as well as securing long term financial commitments from key stakeholders.
Investment and fundraising strategies – our investment and fundraising strategies are informed by wide experience across the cultural, creative and charitable sectors. We tap into funding opportunities at local, national and European levels, and bring up to date intelligence about the most appropriate routes to investment. Fundraising plans are framed with a clear strategic approach and priorities, detailed implementation plans, and accompanied with prospect research that is tailored for each client.
Marketing and development research and planning – we provide market assessments that include both competitor and comparator analysis. Our primary research can include: face to face and telephone consultation; focus groups; and e-surveys. We also assemble the most appropriate secondary research including client performance and trading data, along with industry information on relevant trends and developments.
Organisational review and development – your business plans may be sound, but your organisation may not be fully equipped to deliver them. We will review your organisation against your targets and plans and recommend changes or improvements to governance, administrative systems, communications, management structures and approach, and staff roles and responsibilities as required. Previous projects have included rounds of Board, management and staff team and individual meetings, along with external stakeholder consultation. Recommendations are developed into coherent development plans, with resources requirements and recommendations on sources of additional investment. Training plans, person specifications, job descriptions and recruitment material is also provided when needed, and our team can directly assist recruitment processes when useful.
Mentoring and supporting change – our team also offers mentoring and support for Board members and managers who wish to explore current challenges and future opportunities with a disinterested expert. This work is organised in half day blocks to allow for a flexible response.
