We provide a range of project development services:
Horizon scanning – we invest in our networks and research time to make sure that we are aware of developments and trends that will benefit clients. We identify opportunities, brief clients and map out routes to respond within the resources and capacity of the organisation.
Income diversification – our expertise in fundraising, investment and the development of commercial opportunities means that we can advise clients on how to broaden their income streams without introducing unacceptable risks or compromising core activities. We research opportunities, provide strategic advice and detailed action plans. We also provide direct bespoke support to clients when needed.
Developing partnerships – our team have a great track record in developing and brokering partnerships. Successes range from international collaborations, to national agencies, regional bodies and municipalities. Our expertise in culture and creative industries in both urban and rural regeneration and across a range of sectors means gives us a large canvas for partnership development. We have extensive stakeholder consultation experience, ranging from major funding bodies and professional sector reviews to local community groups.
European funding programmes – we have experience and expertise across EU funding streams, from LEADER applications in the West of Scotland to transnational collaboration on major projects. Our lead consultant is a Cultural Expert for the European Commission and a Cultural Policy Expert for the Council of Europe, with a wide network of European colleagues.
Funding applications – not all organisations have the capacity or experience to produce excellent funding applications. We have a strong track record in successful applications to a wide range of fund holders, from lottery distributors to major Trusts and Foundations. We are also expert in guiding clients on their initial discussions and approaches to funders, and on how best to use their resources, including Board member involvement.
Mentoring and support – our team has the experience, confidence and sensitivity to successfully support anyone involved in your project or organisation. We have worked effectively with the Boards of major venues, marketing teams, festival organisers, the staff of national agencies and cohorts of volunteers. Our support has: helped launch new capital developments; supported major organisational change or company mergers; established new governance; and helped individual team members through difficult periods.
Project planning – our experience of project delivery and project management approaches is invaluable in effective project planning. We support or provide plans that are entirely customised to the needs of the particular project to ensure that the scope and timing of the project lie within the resources of the client, and so that everyone involved has a thorough understanding of the process and their own role.
Change & organisational development – new projects often require organisational change and we provide support where it is required. This may include mentoring, but also the development of training plans, new forms of governance, improved administrative systems or the recruitment of new staff or Board members. We can not only devise but also deliver training and development programmes if required.
Evaluation & monitoring – we offer advice and planning on establishing evaluation and monitoring approaches at the outset of projects as well as providing evaluation and monitoring services as the project progresses. We can also deliver specific evaluation exercises for stakeholders or funders if needed at a project milestone or the completion of a project.
